Leadership has been a consistent part of my development, from school and community leadership to employment, volunteering and professional growth.
This page brings together the leadership positions, achievements, recognition and experiences that have helped shape how I work with people and contribute to the communities around me.
Leadership is about people.
My leadership experiences have taught me that responsibility is about more than simply holding a position.
My leadership journey began during secondary school, where I had the opportunity to take on several different leadership positions across four years.
Each position gave me a different perspective on leadership. Being a Community Captain, House Captain and eventually School Captain required me to work with different groups of students, communicate effectively and contribute to the wider school community.
These experiences helped me become more comfortable taking responsibility, representing others and contributing to events and initiatives.
Leadership has continued beyond school through my employment, volunteering and university experiences. I now see leadership as an opportunity to support others, contribute to a team and create a positive impact.
Four years. Four roles.
My school leadership journey developed progressively, with each year bringing a different responsibility.
Community Captain
2021Began my formal school leadership journey by serving as a Community Captain and contributing to the wider school community.
House Captain
2022Took on the role of House Captain, supporting participation, teamwork and school activities within my house.
Community Captain
2023Returned to the Community Captain role, continuing to contribute to the school community and build on my previous leadership experience.

2024Served as one of four School Captains, representing students and contributing to the wider school community.

Four Years of School Leadership
Held a formal school leadership position in every year from 2021 to 2024, progressing through Community Captain, House Captain, Community Captain and School Captain.

Served as one of four School Captains in 2024, representing students and contributing to the broader school community.
Dunkley Shield Award
Received the Dunkley Shield Award in recognition of leadership values associated with fairness, equality and community.
World’s Greatest Shave
Contributed to a fundraising initiative that raised approximately $400 for the World’s Greatest Shave.
School Events
Contributed to school events and activities including swimming, athletics and house events throughout my school years.
Continued Community Involvement
Continued developing my leadership and contribution through employment, volunteering, university and community-focused experiences.
Dunkley Shield Award.
The Dunkley Shield Award is one of the achievements I associate most strongly with my school leadership journey.
The recognition reflected values including fairness, equality and community — values that continue to influence how I think about leadership and working with other people.
What leadership has given me.
The most valuable outcomes of leadership have not simply been the titles, but the skills and perspective developed through them.

My formal school leadership journey ended with School Captain in 2024, but my development as a leader has continued.
Employment, volunteering and university have each provided different opportunities to work with people, take responsibility and contribute to shared goals.
As my interests increasingly move towards psychology, people and community-focused work, I want to continue developing a leadership style based on communication, empathy, responsibility and meaningful contribution.
